Share Your Online Expertise

20 12 2007

IYACWe all know you spend time online… whether it’s a MySpace or Facebook profile or IMing your friends — you can’t help it, it’s what you do. Well now you have the opportunity to put that experience to good use at the International Youth Advisory Congress on Online Safety and Security. The point is to give young people a voice in how online safety measures are created. In other words, you can help protect each other from online weirdos.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children has been asked to select 20 students to represent the United States at the Congress in London, England (awesome) July 16 – 22, 2008 and co-host a session in Washington, DC in April 2008. You have to be between the ages of 11 and 16 at the time of the July 2008 session. Here is a link to the application packet — the deadline is January 25, 2008. Cool opportunity, give it a try!
