Yes the new Stephenie Meyer book has finally been released. Will Bella and Edward live happily ever after? Well, that’s not for me to give away. But, if you weren’t one of the lucky few to get your hands on the library’s first copies (and you don’t want to pay $$ for one – don’t blame you), then here are some titles you might want to read while you’re waiting (also refer to this older post for additional suggestions):
The House of Night series by P.C. Cast
The House of Night series is set in a world very much like our own, except in 16-year-old Zoey Redbird’s world, vampires have always existed. In the first book, Zoey enters the House of Night, a school where, after having undergone the Change, she will train to become an adult vampire — that is, if she makes it.

Evernight by Claudia Gray
Sixteen-year-old Bianca, a new girl at the sinister Evernight boarding school, finds herself drawn to another outsider, Jared. But dark forces threaten to tear them apart and destroy Bianca’s entire world.

Vampire Knight series by Matsuri Hino
Cross Academy is attended by two groups of students: the day class and the night class. Yuki Cross and Zero Kiryu are the guardians of the school, protecting the day class from the Academy’s dark secret: the night class is full of vampires!

Frostbite by Richelle Mead
While on a school skiing trip, guardian-in-training Rose faces everything from misunderstandings between friends to fights among factions of Moroi as reports of horrific Strigoi attacks raise tensions, ultimately leading Rose and some of those closest to her into a battle that teaches her much about life, death, and love.

Companions of the Night by Vivian Vande Velde
Kerry Nowicki, 16, never dreamed that vampires lived in her little town of Brockport, New York, let alone that she would become involved with a handsome one named Ethan. When she makes a late-night trip back to the laundromat to retrieve her little brother’s stuffed bear, she interrupts the murderous plans of a vigilante committee that claims Ethan is one of the undead. Kerry tries to help him, so they assume that she is a vampire, too. But can Kerry trust her feelings for someone so alien to her? Or has she been “seduced by the glamour of evil”?

Peeps by Scott Westerfeld
Cal Thompson is a carrier of a parasite that causes vampirism, and must hunt down all of the girlfriends he has unknowingly infected.
